She reminds us to press forward, stay committed to our goals, and believe in the right path. Drawing from her personal experience and passion for helping nurses, Bonnie reflects on the importance of pursuing clarity and fulfillment in your nursing career, even if the journey feels unconventional.

Bonnie also shares why she developed this community for nurses seeking more from their careers and how taking intentional steps toward clarity can help you discover your unique gifts, skills, and opportunities for impact.

**Key Takeaways:**
Trust Your Path: Everyone has a unique vision for their career, and while others may have opinions, the direction that resonates with your heart is worth pursuing.

Growth Through Experience: As you gain experience in nursing, your career goals may shift, but that’s part of the journey toward clarity and impact.

The Power of Self-Awareness: Bonnie emphasizes the importance of knowing what you uniquely bring to the table as a nurse and how that can help you articulate your value and create an impact.

Don't Settle for Being Stuck: Nurses often feel "in motion but not moving forward." Strategic action is key to creating the career you truly desire.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Ambitious Nurse Podcast, where I provide tips, tools and resources for the experienced nurse to put in your career bag to help you be a better person, a better leader, a better professional and, most of all, a better nurse. I'm your host, bonnie Meadows, a career coach and a clinical nurse specialist with over 18 years of experience in healthcare and nursing. It's my passion to help experienced nurses develop their careers to impact healthcare and their communities. Hey, I hope all is well with you today. Hey, I hope all is well with you today. This week, I wanted to give you a quick word of encouragement and remind you to keep going, keep pressing forward. What you desire for your career can truly happen. I am a living witness of it and I don't want anyone to discourage you from the path in which you believe in your heart is the best path for you. Everyone has an idea of what you should be doing for your career, but you have in your heart what is truly best. Sometimes, what we have in our heart for right now might not be the most ideal or it might be something that will lead you to something else you didn't even plan for. I just wanted to tell you to keep going, keep pressing forward. The answer is near. It's right there in front of you. When you're coming into nursing, you mainly have an idea of what you want to do and then, as you grow or get more experience, that what you originally came in for is not what you want to do, or it is what you want to do, but you're having a hard time figuring out how to bridge that gap. I believe everyone can have joy in their nursing careers, even working in the hospital. I believe that everyone has an opportunity to, if you, if that is what are called to do, if that's what you're pulled to do, to make an impact. And so I just wanted to stop by and share why I decided to develop this community In 2015,.

Speaker 1:

I had gone through several roles in health care outside of nursing. I was in the middle of it. By the time I'd gotten to 2017, I decided it was time for me to go back to nursing Because I had learned so much and taken such an unconventional role. I had learned so much and taken such an unconventional role. I had finally gotten to the place of knowing how to get to a place of impact, growing from there and learning from there. Nurses have so much to offer to health care and I want to help you grow and blossom, figuring out what makes you unique and what you bring to the table. I want to help you articulate that and grow that muscle to say these are my skills, this is what I want to build and this is how I want to make an impact. You don't have to have all of the answers right now, but I desire to help you move towards the opening of the eyes. Every time you take an action, it brings more clarity to how you will make that impact.

Speaker 1:

I believe that, nurses, we're hiding Some of us. We're held back by our fears. We're hiding Some of us. We're held back by our fears. Some of us are just doing things that don't even matter. They don't even matter Like we're working. We're in action, we're in motion, in place. So I want you to be in motion, making sure that move you're making is strategic your career, what you want to do, to how you want to do it, to what really lights your fire as a nurse and where you can make the biggest impact. I hope that connects with you.

Speaker 1:

Today. I wanted to share why it's important for me as a nurse to see other nurses grow. It brings me joy. To help other people problem solve through what they bring to the table. The skill set they are uniquely created to do brings me joy. That is where I believe I make some of my impact. The other impact that I make is in other areas, but it all works together. I bring all of those skills here to the table to say here's what you can, here's how you can do it.

Speaker 1:

Every situation is not a cookie cutter situation, because you're unique, just like our patients. We're all unique and we'll be doing something different. Even if you don't see what you like right now in front of you, it's either already out there or someone's trying to develop it. So don't give up on yourself. Don't give up on your dream to be successful, to make an impact, to work in the area of flexibility and joy which, deep down in your heart, is available for you. I hope you enjoyed today's episode. If so, would you take 30 seconds and share it with another nurse who may be unsure of where to go next in their career or maybe need some career clarity? Also, please leave a quick review for the show on Apple podcast. It brings me so much joy and so much encouragement to know this podcast is helping you. Now go get the career you want and not the one you settle for, and I'll meet you back here next Thursday for another episode. See you soon.
